Following the debilitating loss of 2006 MotoGP world champion and former Ducati factory rider Nicky Hayden on May 22nd, the grieving paddock returns to racing action this weekend at the famed Autodromo del Mugello circuit near Valentino Rossi’s hometown of Tavullia for Round Six. Rossi’s bad luck continued days following his last-lap crash at Le Mans, when the 38-year-old was injured on his ranch during a flat-track session. A collective gasp was heard from Rossi’s tifosi around the world, but the Doctor was cleared to compete. 

Mugello is Rossi’s sacred home circuit where he has taken six pole positions and seven victories. Italy has four MotoGP men toeing the line in 2017, and with the promise of dense yellow smoke and all-night partying, this week I’m highlighting the beautiful creations of Italian motorcycle and bicycle manufacturers. Moto aficionados lust and obsess over Ducati, Aprilia, MV Agusta and Moto Guzzi. And our push-bike brethren would give their eye teeth to own a Pinarello, Colnago, Bianchi or Pegoretti. Read more...
